Fishing For Largemouth Bass
Fishing for largemouth bass requires skill. Once the bait has entered the water, you must determine what retrieval technique that will trigger the big strikes. Do not be surprised when the massive fish crushes the bait on the initial drop. Since we do not live in a fairy tale, this is not always going to be the case. Depending on the mood of the fish, they may want the bait hopped along the bottom, vertical jigged over branches, swam at various depths or simply motionless. You never really know what the bass desires but it is fun to experiment to find that golden combination of skill and luck so that the largemouth strikes like lightening. After I tossed the lure in the dark twisted waterway, I await the strike.
I feel a bump, not a nibble for this is not cat fishing or blue fishing with live bait, this is largemouth bass fishing as its best. The pull. The hook is set and the fight is on. This is a typical fishing outing for me and maybe for you as well? If it is not then you need to alter the fishing plan and start getting back into the catching mode not just the fishing mode.
The fight is another reason I love to fish. I love it, the pull of the bass as he or she fights for their life. The bass has no idea that we anglers are so much more conservationist than in the not too distance past. The chances of a bass surviving once I have hooked it and fought it and landed it are 100%. Thats great odds for any fish. The fish has fought gallantly and I have fought the bass good as well. I start the cranking in of the reclaimed line that the bass had stripped about thirty feet from and am winning the fight.
Fishing for largemouth bass can be great for youngsters as well. Take your child fishing and do not expect to catch anything. This way if he does catch something the credit can be all his. An ego builder indeed. Great as a carry over in school with the new found confidence, he can do anything. Catching the largemouth bass in this way can lead to a better trophy fishing trip in the not too distant future. The overall feeling one gets when fishing the ponds and lakes and even rivers of the world is unity. When a fish is heaved up on the land and the fight is over. The best place to catch a bass is a quiet location away from the huddled masses of crowds and has plenty of golden quietness. This is one of the most important things during fishing, that the sound, any sound, be absent. Ever tried to fish in freshwater with a loud partner or a car full of kids in the parking lot? It makes one desire to leave because you know that whatever bass was here has been chased away by the rock and roll.
